Plagiarism
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the process of copying another person’s idea on written
work and claiming it as their own (Bing, 2014). Plagiarism only leads to trouble, and
takes as much effort as doing it yourself. Taking credit for someone else’s work
is not a kind thing to do, and has serious consequences.
In order to prevent plagiarism, my school designed a “Magnet Honor
Code." The purpose of the honor code is to provide each student with an equal
education and letting each take credit of their own work.
There are disciplinary consequences to plagiarizing at RMSST.
Some consequences are: a zero on the assignment, ISS, notation on their
permanent record, notification of dishonesty to colleges and universities, and
even a removal from RMSST.
